Building Your Wardrobe | Basics

There are some items that everyone needs in their wardrobes. Basic items are the beginning to building a succesful wardrobe. You need things that are timeless and classic that could be used with almost any look.
Below I will put all items that I think is a staple item for your wardrobe.
These are items I wear almost daily.

Plain T-Shirts

So simple. The basic colours are white, grey, black and navy. There are so many styles and prices available. H&M have a great budget basic section, but Topshop and Asos also have good basic sections.
Everyone needs plain t-shirts, wether it's to layer under a jumper or wear with jeans. They go with eveything and will never go out of style.

Jeans

Jeans? Who the hell doesn't own jeans. Personally I think Topshop have the best jean selection. From every colour to every style. So comfy to wear on an every day basis. You can dress them up, or dress them down. EVERYONE needs a good go-to pair of jeans.
I love to wear the lighter ones with converse and a funky T.
The darker ones are great for going out and wearing with a nice shirt. (like the one below)

The 'classic' White Shirt

Again the options are endless. Everyone needs a white shirt, I love wearing this French Connection one with a statement necklace and dark jeans.

 A Simple Jumper or Cardigan

I own way too many jumpers and cardigans. I have every colour and every shape and every material. I usually wear the same few jumpers and cardigans  on rotation. I'm always looking for something to throw on over an outfit.
My black and navy cardigan get the most use, because they literally go with everything. I also think my cream and grey jumpers just look great with jeans for a casual day-look.

The Timeless Trench

Whilst most of the above are available for budget prices, if there's one thing I would suggest splurging on, it's a coat. A coat that will last a long time, will never go out of style and will go with everything.
I think these two coats above are just so classic and timeless. They're nude which means they'll go with everything and you can wear them all year round. (Coats are always a necessity in Britain.)

Try not to buy a coat that's too bold because although you may love it at the time... in a year or so, it might not appeal to you so much.

The LBD

The little black dress has been a wardrobe staple for decades. Wether you want lace, crushed velvet, capped sleeves, or a floor sweeping dress - there is a style for everyone. Such a chic and classic peice can be a chance to show your unique style. There's always going to be a time in you're life were you need to pull out your favourite LBD. Also black is sliming... so it's a win win.

Basic Shoes

Okay so this category is hard because it's up to you what style shoe you like and what's going to work for you in everyday life.
I've picked 3 style shoes that I wear basically wear most of the time.

Converse: I love my converse. They go with jeans, shorts, skirts or dresses. I just chuck these on with everything and anything. (I'm sure you can tell by how worn and dirty they are)

The Ballet Flat: They go with everything and are comfortable to wear.

The Boot: I wear these basically none stop in Autumn and Winter. I love my boots.

lots of love
