My Favourite Make Up Brushes | Eye

As I started to get into make up, I really struggled with understanding make up brushes. I didn't know which to use and what went where.
Thankfully, through watching youtube I seemed to learn and now I'm totally obsessed with brushes! I love buying new ones, but hate using them for the first time (haha). New brushes sit in my draw for a while before I pluck up the courage to use them. They're too clean and pretty...

So here are my thoughts on my eye make up brushes, which have been tried and tested.

THE BODY SHOP

Look: I love the look of these brushes, they look so sleek. One complaint I do have is that the base is really wide.
Price: £9-£10
These are quite reasonable but not exactly budget friendly.
Washing, Ability and Longevity: I wouldn't recommend these brushes I find that they don't pick up and distribute product very well. Also, after a few washes my brushes have gone solid. I don't think they wash very well.

MAC

Look: These brushes just look so beautiful. Only problem is they're really long so they might not fit in everyone's make up bags (especially smaller ones). I really like that they're cream coloured instead of black because you can see if they're clean or not!
Price: £16.50 - £27
These prices are extortionate, but I suppose they're a good investment. I have the 217 (£18) and 239 (£20)
Washing, Ability and Longevity: These brushes have washed well so far. There are so many brushes available to suit everyone's needs. I have the 217 this makes blending a dream. It basically does the work for you. I use the 239 to pack on product. I really like these brushes, the only downside are the prices...

TOPSHOP

Look: The Topshop brushes always look super cool. I have these which were part of a set and I think they're so cool because they're see through. I also love their neon pink and the cobalt collection.
Price: I couldn't find all the brushes on the topshop website but the price range starts at £4
Amazing value for money!!!
Washing, Ability and Longevity: They're nice brushes, really good for their price. They washed clean but one of my pink brushes was stained purple after using purple eyeshadow.

H&M

Look: Basic
Price: Both types £1.99, there is also a cream version which is £2.99
Basically you could buy 9 H&M brushes for almost the same price as one MAC 217. Amazing, amazing price.
Washing, Ability and Longevity: I love these brushes!! Really good quality, especially for only £1.99. They last for a long time and wear really well. Also they wash amazingly. I've washed mine probably tens of times and they're still going strong. Because they're so cheap I own a lot of them, this means that I don't have to constantly clean them.
I highly recommend you try these brushes.

REAL TECHNIQUES

Look: I really like the look of these brushes.
Price: This is starter set, single brushes are also available for around £6.99.
The brushes are available at different places for different prices. The price is reasonable as you get 5 useful brushes in the set.
Generally (including Superdrug and Feel Unique) - £20.99
Boots - £21.99
Amazon - the prices often change but they are considerably cheaper at around £15/£16
Washing, Ability and Longevity: They wash well. These brushes are good for the price. The set is almost equal to one MAC brush. The accent brush (the smallest one) is a good brush to have. I find the crease brush is too big for my crease (like it is literally massive) so I would suggest using it for all over the eye.

MODELS OWN

Look: WOW. That's all I have to say is WOW. Neon orange brushes? I am in love. I bought these just because of the colour (oops). Orange is my faaaav.
Price: £10 for the 5pc Set, which includes 3 eye brushes. This works out at £2 a brush. Such a good price. Models Own also do single brushes that are £4-£5.
Washing, Ability and Longevity: They wash well and the brushes are all really good quality and I love them all. The angled brush is great for gel eyeliner, and the tiny blender brush is great for running through the crease.

lots of love
