Review | Miss Manga Mascara

I love mascara. Without mascara I feel facially naked, I think it's essential to complete a look and frame your face.
I paticularly like L'Oreal Mascaras, and when I saw the massive campaigns for their new mascara drop I couldn't wait to get my little paws on it.

It retails at £7.99 (£8.99 from Boots). After I'd bought it I saw so many bad reviews! But since I'd bought it I thought I'd give it a try.
The brush is really weird. But after I used it a couple of times I got used to it, and I really like the effect of this mascara. It's super black, it thickens and all that jazz. Although there was a slight spider legs effect - I would suddest using another mascara along with this. Since there's been so many bad reviews, others obviously aren't keen. I personally like it. It's worth trying it for youserlf.

London Town

Seeming as I live in Wales, getting to go to London is always exciting. It's such a beautiful place. I love that city-feeling. London has a feeling of urgency and freedom. The possibilities are endless.
I went on a trip to watch Phantom of The Opera on West End. It was absolutely amazing! I'd never seen the show before although I briefly knew the music.
I had a relaxed day with my boyfriend shopping in Regent Street, before enjoying the tastiest meal in Strada.

Pizza Party

Here is what my boyfriend and I got up to one Friday evening... I think this is something fun that everybody could do with their friends or family.

We decided to stay in this Valentine's Day, make pizza and watch a film. The weather was horrendous and I came down with the flu that weekend.
We used a ready to use dough from M&S which you roll out yourself. It made it the process so simple. We also bought ready made Margherita Sauce. We used Mozzerella Cheese and Parmesan, and Jed (my boyfriend) had chicken and pineapple on his. We made wedges and garlic dough balls to go with this and it was so nice. It was so cool to know that we'd actually put time and effort into making delicious food.
Although we did this for Valentine's, this is something fun you could do whenever.

My Everyday Make Up

Just a quick post to show you what make up I wear on a day to day basis. Obviously I'm still in sixthform so my make up needs to be quite natural (and also I usually only have about 5 minutes to do it)

I don't wear foundation most days, instead I just use concealer under my eyes or areas of redness. I use either The Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in Classic Beige, or Collection Lasting Perfection in 1 and 2. I use the Topshop flat top foundation brush. I set this with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. To add some dimension to my face I use Honey Bronzer from the Body Shop. If I use blusher I'll use a Bourjouis cream blush.
I fill in my eyebrows with Mac Omega eyeshadow and set with a clear lash gel from The Body Shop. My current mascara is Maybelline The Falsies, although I am a major fan of L'oreal Mascaras. White eyeliner is just amazing, especially first thing in the morning. I use this on my water line and it makes my eyes look bigger and more awake and gets rid of any redness. I'll highlight my inner corner with a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil like 630 Cashmere.
Last but not least I put some lip balm on my lips like this EOS one.

I know I like having a nose into what everyone else is wearing so I hope you enjoyed this post.

My Favourite Make Up Brushes | Eye

As I started to get into make up, I really struggled with understanding make up brushes. I didn't know which to use and what went where.
Thankfully, through watching youtube I seemed to learn and now I'm totally obsessed with brushes! I love buying new ones, but hate using them for the first time (haha). New brushes sit in my draw for a while before I pluck up the courage to use them. They're too clean and pretty...

So here are my thoughts on my eye make up brushes, which have been tried and tested.

THE BODY SHOP

Look: I love the look of these brushes, they look so sleek. One complaint I do have is that the base is really wide.
Price: £9-£10
These are quite reasonable but not exactly budget friendly.
Washing, Ability and Longevity: I wouldn't recommend these brushes I find that they don't pick up and distribute product very well. Also, after a few washes my brushes have gone solid. I don't think they wash very well.

MAC

Look: These brushes just look so beautiful. Only problem is they're really long so they might not fit in everyone's make up bags (especially smaller ones). I really like that they're cream coloured instead of black because you can see if they're clean or not!
Price: £16.50 - £27
These prices are extortionate, but I suppose they're a good investment. I have the 217 (£18) and 239 (£20)
Washing, Ability and Longevity: These brushes have washed well so far. There are so many brushes available to suit everyone's needs. I have the 217 this makes blending a dream. It basically does the work for you. I use the 239 to pack on product. I really like these brushes, the only downside are the prices...

TOPSHOP

Look: The Topshop brushes always look super cool. I have these which were part of a set and I think they're so cool because they're see through. I also love their neon pink and the cobalt collection.
Price: I couldn't find all the brushes on the topshop website but the price range starts at £4
Amazing value for money!!!
Washing, Ability and Longevity: They're nice brushes, really good for their price. They washed clean but one of my pink brushes was stained purple after using purple eyeshadow.

H&M

Look: Basic
Price: Both types £1.99, there is also a cream version which is £2.99
Basically you could buy 9 H&M brushes for almost the same price as one MAC 217. Amazing, amazing price.
Washing, Ability and Longevity: I love these brushes!! Really good quality, especially for only £1.99. They last for a long time and wear really well. Also they wash amazingly. I've washed mine probably tens of times and they're still going strong. Because they're so cheap I own a lot of them, this means that I don't have to constantly clean them.
I highly recommend you try these brushes.

REAL TECHNIQUES

Look: I really like the look of these brushes.
Price: This is starter set, single brushes are also available for around £6.99.
The brushes are available at different places for different prices. The price is reasonable as you get 5 useful brushes in the set.
Generally (including Superdrug and Feel Unique) - £20.99
Boots - £21.99
Amazon - the prices often change but they are considerably cheaper at around £15/£16
Washing, Ability and Longevity: They wash well. These brushes are good for the price. The set is almost equal to one MAC brush. The accent brush (the smallest one) is a good brush to have. I find the crease brush is too big for my crease (like it is literally massive) so I would suggest using it for all over the eye.

MODELS OWN

Look: WOW. That's all I have to say is WOW. Neon orange brushes? I am in love. I bought these just because of the colour (oops). Orange is my faaaav.
Price: £10 for the 5pc Set, which includes 3 eye brushes. This works out at £2 a brush. Such a good price. Models Own also do single brushes that are £4-£5.
Washing, Ability and Longevity: They wash well and the brushes are all really good quality and I love them all. The angled brush is great for gel eyeliner, and the tiny blender brush is great for running through the crease.

lots of love

HAUL

I absolutely loooove watching haul videos on YT. Getting an insight into what other people are buying is so fun! I don't know why, but when I've seen someone buy something it makes me want it x100 more... *guilty face*

Here is what I've bought recently...

FEEL UNIQUE

Tanya Burr Exclusive Collection by eye CANDY Lipgloss - £6.99 in Afternoon Tea

I ordered this as soon as the collection became available. I love Tanya's YT Chanel, I think it's amazing how far she's come because of the beauty community. I went for Afternoon Tea which is a peachy pink. I'm not usually a lipgloss fan but I have really enjoyed using this! I also think the packaging and names are adorable. It's obvious Tanya put a lot of thought and effort into her products.

Kardashian Beauty Kim Kardazzle Palette - £14.95

I also dipped my toe into the Kardashian Beauty collection. I've been wanting to try something for ages, but I didn't know where to start. (I LOVE the Kardashians. Such an amazing family) I've seen several bad reviews of their products so I was pleasantly suprised with the quality of this palette. When I saw the palette I thought it was so practical! All the colours are really useable. It's all in one little compact which is even smaller than my iPhone 4S so that's really easy to carry around and doesn't take up a lot of space.
There's 3 cheek colours - two blushes and a highlight. The highlighter is absolutely stunning. The blush colours were so pretty and easy to wear. There's also 8 eyeshadows. 4 warm toned shimmers and 4 cool toned mattes. All great, wearable, neutrals.

H&M

Shirt £14.99

This shirt looked uber boho and fun. I loved all the detail on the sleeve and on the corner. I would pare this with a pair of shorts and boots! I can't wait for the weather to improve! Also it's a great bargain.

Bag £12.99

I have an obsession with bags! When I saw this I knew I had to take it home with me, it's like an almost-neon orangey-red bag. The strap is orangey-red with some chain detail. I think this would look good with a monochrome outfit, to add a pop of colour.

Anchor Necklace - £6.99

I love statement necklaces. I thought this nautical one was super cute!

What have you been buying recently?

My Top 5 Lipsticks

I love lipstick. There, I've admitted it. My favourite part of doing my make up is choosing what colour I want on my lips. I love wearing bright lipsticks. From orange to purples, I'm all over it! For me, lipstick just makes the 'look' more complete. I store my lipsticks in an acrylic holderwhich I picked up from T K Maxx. My favourites are out on display, although I do have a collection of others lying around in my draws.

Here's is the lowdown on my top 5 lipsticks.

Gay Geranium

1. No7 - Gay Geranium
Orange is my favourite colour and when I discovered this gorgeous shade, it was love at first sight. This matte lipstick has some serious staying power. (I put it to the ultimate test on a daytrip to London, I shopped all day ate and drank and it stayed put until I toke my makeup off late that night, without even having to reapply.) This is the best summer colour, I wore it none stop last summer and I'm sure this Summer will be the same. The almost-neon colour looks great in pictures aswell.

Russian Red

2. MAC - Russian Red
A recent addition to my collection, and it's jumped straight to the top. This was a colour I wore all through winter. It's a darker red, slightly blue toned and it makes your teeth look so white. It's the perfect matte red that stays put all day.

110

3. Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick - Vibrant Coral 110
This is the perfect summer shade, a bright coral. This shade just completes a look with minimal effort. I love wearing this colour with a few coats of mascara, white eyeliner, and a dash of colour on my cheeks.

107

4. Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick - Wine 107
This lipstick is one of Zoella's favourites, after I saw her raving about it, I had to buy it! I love it. It's a great burguny colour that adds edgyness to any makeup look. I wear this colour all the time.

Pure Pink

 5. Tom Ford - Pure Pink
This gorgeous bright pink looks amazing on the lips. I love wearing it with a metallic eye. This is the only lipstick in my Top 5 which isn't a matte, it's lovely and moisturising. This is my first expensive lipstick. I want to buy so many more Tom Ford lipsticks because they all look amazing, unfortunately I don't think I can justify a £36 lipstick. Although I am grateful that I own this one, I don't have another lipstick like it. You can tell it's an expensive lipstick because it feels so luxurious on the lips!

Hope you liked the post
lots of love

Building Your Wardrobe | Statement Pieces

I've previously done a post on wardrobe basics. Basic things you need for your wardrobe which just go with everything.
I love bright colours and textured clothes. Clothes that catch your eye as they walk pass you in the street. I'm not someone who buys into trends very much. I just buy things that I like, and that I think I would get a lot of use out of.
H&M is one of my favourite places to shops and you can find some amazing gems at a bargain price. The jewellery especially is right up my street. I love statement necklaces.

Below are some of my favourite statement pieces in my wardrobe.

Monsoon
You can't go wrong with patterned dresses. I would wear the monochrome dress with a bright coloured cardi.
The black and gold sparkle dress is the perfect party dress.

Both from Topshop
I have every colour and pattern jean you could imagine. I basically live in jeans. My favourite jeans, are my topshop cropped green ones. I just find that absolutely everything goes with these. But I am totally a sucker for floral jeans, you can never have too much of a good thing... right?
Monsoon
Topshop
Like I said before, I absolutely love jumpers. Especially this neon coral cardi from Hollister. I honestly think Hollister is one of the best places to get knitwear. I would never buy them full price though, prices are extortionate.

I love knecklaces, I have a slight addiction. These are both from H&M.
