What's in My Make Up Travel Bag?

For a Make Up Obsessive like me, streamlining my makeup bag was tough.
Here's what I've managed to cut it down to *weaps*

Travel Tips: Packing Cubes

I love organisation. I don't feel relaxed unless everything is in it's place and tidy!! When I saw  Ingrid Nilsen What's In My Suitcase? + Packing Tips' video I felt relieved to know there was such things as packing cubes! The video pleased me because it meant that everything could be placed together in a suitcase and I wouldn't have to rummage through everything to find what I was looking for.

What a genius idea. To amazon I went to find some of my own...
I saw E-Cubes. They were less expensive than Eagle Creek and came in a set of 3 for approx £17. There was Small Medium and Large and extra slim.
I can't wait to use my packing cubes. I've got a set with S,M,L and a set of Sx3
I find the small and medium ones are the best sized!
Happy Travelling!!

What I Got For Christmas 2014

I love watching What I got for Christmas videos on YT, so here's my own version of some of the little bits and bobs I got for Christmas! I was very lucky and spoilt rotten by my friends and family!

My biggest present was Go Pro Hero 4 Silver which I am so grateful for because I get to take it to Aus /Nzwith me!

Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas! I saw one status which struck me in paticular - it's not about what's under the Christmas tree, as opposed to who's around it!

Last Minute Prep | My Gap Year

Despite promising myself I'd be well organised, I'm lying in bed one week before I leave with a long list of things to do and get before I set off on my trip. Of course these things are probably the most important and shouldn't have been left til last minute....
WHERE DO I EVEN START?

First things first, after a phonecall to my local travel agents, my Aus & NZ Dollars have been pre booked. I can go pick them up on Tuesday.
Next? Sorting out a cashcard!!! *sigh*

I've photocopied all my itineries, documents etc and I'll be making folders with any info my family could need whilst I'm away so that it's all in one place and easy to find! Also it's interesting for them to be able to follow where I am and what I've been up to!

I've packed (probably the only prep I have actually done!!!) but still have some things to add, along with some last minute purchases! I need to learn how to use my gopro also! For a tech nube like me, that's equally fun and fustrating.

I have some tours I need to book but don't seem to get round to doing!

Probably the last thing on my list... is saying goodbye to friends and family. As my shifts in work get less and less and I have to say bye to colleagues, the realisation starts to set in! It's making me quite emotional as I love my work place! Saying goodbye to my friends is also going to be hard, extra tight squeeze for the last hug!!

It's a mere SEVEN DAYS until I'll be arriving at the airport! A thought that scares me so much I feel frozen to the spot, but makes me excited. I cannot stop watching vlogs people have put on youtube of their trips! It's making me seriously excited. My two favourite are

Australia East Coast Road Trip (2013) / GoPro - Kronome22

Awesome ROAD TRIP around Australia ! / GoPro3+ / Mazde Remix - Rubin Henkel

Now that I've written my list I feel one step closer to completing it... *looks down at feet*

Goodluck if you have any travel prep to do

Textured Talk

You can't come between a girl and her texture. I love a good bit of texture!
I have a feeling these two items are going to become STAPLES in my wardrobe this season.
Fake Fur Jacket, £29.99 (buy it here)
Black/Imitation Fur Sneakers, £12.99 (buy it here)
BOTH H&M

I have something simular to this black jacket, in cream, and I've worn and worn it. I'm sure I'll equally get my use of this one! I was pleasently surprised with how comfy these shoes were! I've seen simular in topshop and these were much cheaper so it's a win win for me!

Two Weeks Til Take Off | My Gap Year

There is less than two weeks til I leave for Aus and NZ!
Excitment and nerves corse through my veins as I begin to say my final goodbyes to friends and family for two months, and I have less and less shifts at work.

What if I made a mistake by doing this, and wasting so much money I wonder? What if I can't find another job when I arrive home? At the back of my mind there is a constant glimmer of doubt which I tried to shut out by not thinking about my trip. But with it being so close I inevitably have to start preparing myself.

Here's some of the things I've been doing to prepare

- making sure I have all the correct paperwork and documents and keeping them safe in one large file (It is also a good idea to make coppies for immediate friends and family. Especially copies of your itinerary)

- buying yourself a travel guide or researching online
I spent hours on the internet looking at the best things to do in areas I was staying in so I could use my short times there wisely!

- checking (and double checking) dates and times of flights and hotel booking etc.

- have a packing run through. Instead of having a last minute dilemma, pack your bag a week or two in advance. Make a list of everything you're putting in and anything you need to get. That way you know everything fits in your bag and that you have everything you need. There's plenty of videos on you tube regarding what to pack. One of my favourite channel's I've stumbled upon is Backpacking Bananas! Her video seemed very helpful.

- keep an eye out for any bargains or useful things you'll need abroad. I.e packing cubes, a neck pillow, adaptors, first aid kit etc.

Despite feeling apprehensive and scared about travelling by myself for the first time I'm mainly excited. I can't wait to experience all these amazing places, that I never thought I'd actually see. I feel so lucky that I am fortunate enough to be able to travel the world. What an amazing start 2015!!!!!!

All the best if you're off on your travels
